normalicy

*a cold shower (it's okay after the first 30 seconds, because your body and the water temp eventually become friends)
*answering all sorts of personal questions and making new friends on public transit
*no toilet seat (enough said)
*raising your eyebrows as a substitute for "yes" (my forehead muscles are getting strong)
*repeated conversation: "You have whitening lotion for your skin here and want to have white skin, but you see we have tanning lotion and lay in the sun so we can have skin like yours! We all want what we can't have, I guess!"
*rice, tuna, and more rice
*becoming best friends with the fan of the house
*wearing two outfits a day: shorts for inside the house, pants for leaving it
*paying the equivalent of 50 cents to a $1.50 for a hearty lunch everyday
*verbally telling the cockroach he has to stay on HIS side of the shower
*having a few lines of "All the Single Ladies" sung at you by a teenage guy as you walk by
*watching the women primp for a few minutes each in the public CR (comfort room = bathroom) at the mall, and wondering why we Americans try to be so sly in doing it
*starting text messages with a relational "hello, how are you doing?" instead of cutting to the chase right away
*getting to know just why the people group I am working with is famous for their friendliness and hospitality :)
